How to send international calls in format +xxxxxxxxxxx

This article will explain how to configure PBXware to force international calls to use a format with a leading '+' sign.

Step 1: Create new trunk for international calls

  • Create new trunk which will be the same as existing one which is used for national calls, add the same settings, add new trunk name.
  • In case there is already existing trunk which is being used for international calls only, this step can be skipped.

Step 2: Populate the field Prefix on newly created trunk

  • Under the trunk designated for international calls, locate the Prefix field and input the '+' sign. Afterward, save the trunk settings. Ensure that Pass Thru and E164 are set to "Not set.

If all international calls are routed through the same trunk, you can designate this trunk as the primary trunk and utilize Least Cost Routing (LCR) to add the necessary trunk for national calls.
