HOWTO :: SRV3 remove VPS in detached state ( due to move/clone procedure failure )

In case the customer reports that VPS in SRV3 which he tried to move / clone / copy is in detached state and it is not possible to remove it from GUI you need to do following checks.

First you will ssh to storage host , and confirm that original name of VPS they attempted to move / copy / clone is seen in sw vps-list output and is shown in detached state.

Then you need to confirm that this VPS does not actually exist ( contains ) any data.

You can check this 2 ways,

cd /home/lxc/VPSNAME/

ls -lah .volume

If nothing can be found in .volume folder it is safe to proceed with this procedure

or

cat /home/lxc/VPSNAME/vps.conf

obtain domain and volume from conf file and then execute

zfs get all NETSTOR/domain/volume

If dataset does not exist , you are safe to proceed with this procedure.

Once you confirm the above,

cd /home/lxc/

rm -rf VPSNAME folder

/etc/init.d/sw-connector restart

After this , ssh to CONTROLLER and now remove incorrect VPS from mysql so you do not see it in GUI,

use serverware

select * from sw_vpses;

obtain ID for this VPS

delete from sw_vpses where id = 'ID';
