HOWTO Forward DIDs To Other Systems/Gateways

At times it is necessary to forward DID numbers from one system to another. In this example, we'll forward the DID number '02070433486
' from System1 to System2. Once someone dials '02070433486
' on System1, the call is redirected to System2. Here is a short summary of how to set this up:

SYSTEM1

  • Create an extension (e.g. 2000)
  • Create a trunk to your provider over which DID number will be received
  • Navigate to 'DIDs" and click "Add DID"
  • Type DID number '02070433486
    ' into 'DID/Channel (start)' field
  • Under 'Destination' select 'Multi User'*
  • Under 'Value' type the '2000' (Extension number created above)
  • Click on 'Save'

SYSTEM2

  • Create a Trunk to System1
  • Navigate to 'DIDs" and click "Add DID"
  • Type DID number '02070433486
' into the 'DID/Channel (start)' field
  • Under 'Destination' select where calls will be sent and enter the local system destination.
  • Click on 'Save'

NOTE: If 'Destination'='Multi User' System1 will send CallerID information as a DID number (e.g. '02070433486')

If 'Destination'='Extension' System1 will send Extension number as CallerID information (e.g. 2000024)
