Voicemail :: HOWTO Voicemail settings

Max Length Of Voicemail Greeting

To set the maximum length of user-recordable voicemail, provide time in seconds to the 'Max Greeting Length' field.


To set the Maximum Greeting Length:

  1. Login to the system administration.
  2. Navigate to 'Settings: Voicemail' .
  3. Under the 'General Voicemail' group there is'Max Greeting Length' option.
  4. Enter the value in seconds (e.g. 10) and Click the 'Save' button.


Max Seconds Of Silence


The maximum silence time is set as a timeout that hangs up voice recording if nothing is said for a specified period of time.


To set the Maximum Silence Time:

  1. Login to the system administration.
  2. Navigate to 'Settings: Voicemail' .
  3. Under the 'General Voicemail' group there is a 'Max Seconds of Silence' option.
  4. Enter the value in seconds (e.g. 3) and Click the 'Save' button.

Silence Threshold


The silence threshold is used to determine what silence is. The lower the threshold, the more sensitive it is.


To set the Silence Threshold:

  1. Login to the system administration.
  2. Navigate to 'Settings: Voicemail' .
  3. Under the 'General Voicemail' group there is a 'Silence Threshold' option.
  4. Enter a value in seconds (e.g. 128) and click on the 'Save' button.


Maximum Login Attempts


The maximum login attempts is useful for protecting the voice inbox against misuse.


To set the maximum number of login attempts:

  1. Login to the system administration.
  2. Navigate to 'Settings: Voicemail' .
  3. Under the 'Main Voicemail Menu' group there is a 'Max login attempts' option.
  4. Enter the maximum number of login attempts (e.g. 3) and click the 'Save' button.

Send Voicemail


Voice messages can be sent to the other extension voice inbox by pressing 5 from the advanced menu.


To enable the send voicemail option:

  1. Login to the system administration.
  2. Navigate to 'Settings: Voicemail' .
  3. Under the 'Advanced Features' group there is a 'Allow Review Mode' option.
  4. Select 'Yes' to enable this option and click the 'Save' button.
